Describe Yourself:I don't have ac and need a means of cooling.
A fine product at a great price.

I already had 2-14000 btu edgestars and did not hesitate to purchase this unit knowing that it was made by edgestar. It works exactly as advertised and keeps my entire upstairs cool with the doors to the two extra bedrooms and bathrooms shut. The 2 edgestars are downstairs and between the 3 units my entire 2 story 2000 plus square foot house stays in the 70's when the temperature outside is 90. My unit is actually quiter than the other 2 and works just as well. If you want a great AC at a good price this is it.

exhaust hose issue

The exhaust hose is almost impossible to secure in to the round plastic piece that attaches to the window - then it pops out! Any suggestions? It takes me 30 min. to squeeze the darn thing back in the plastic piece.

Secure it with duct tape!

Should the "swing" function continually move the vanes ? My unit parks vanes to a new position.

When I press "swing" on remote vanes ratchet to a new position but do not continuously move.
Some of the units do swing. To make them swing you must hold the swing button in for 2 seconds. If you merely hit the button it will just jog the louvers. If you hold the button and it does not swing then you have a model that does not swing. Mine does.
